Ronal Bejarano’s practice centers on the human figure as a means of examining inner experience and the changes that shape an individual over time.

His figures often appear suspended, isolated, or in relation to one another. Through gesture, proportion, and changes in material, the body takes on different forms and states of presence. In some compositions, the figure remains clearly defined, while in others its contours begin to shift, gradually dissolving into the painted surface.

The uniform backgrounds that characterize much of his work serve two purposes: to isolate the figure from its surroundings and to seek a sense of clarity. The apparent simplicity of these spaces reflects a desire for a reality in which feelings, intentions, and actions might be understood without constant interpretation. This desire exists alongside an awareness of the nuances and contradictions inherent in human experience.

Through the relationship between body, space, color, and material, Bejarano considers identity as something continually shaped by personal experience and encounters with others.
